The old lady does not treat Mani as a grandaughter at all and always putting her down. In an earlier episode the old lady will tell Vasu that she will have to look for a suitable groom for Mani and also ask her opinion as she has studied overseas and then Vasu will mention Veera's name and she agrees. Today she is saying something else and looks like she has an ulterior motive. This old lady is very money minded and maybe most of the properties are in Mani's father's name or else in Mani's name or have Malarvizhi and Wilson made a bequest to Mani of which the old lady is aware. Eagerly waiting for further developments. I hope Mani will start to think logically and become a strong character and stand up for her parents and herself. Veera is doing a good job supporting Mani and her parents and I think he also knows of about what happened to Mani in America.
