Real love sees no flaws, they say. On Tuesday, Kerala witnessed a marriage that proved this—resisting family pressure, Shehna tied the knot with Pranav, her wheel-chair bound lover. The wedding in Thrissur was attended by close friends and family members.
Shehna and Pranav's story is one that will melt hearts. About six years ago, while Pranav was in college, he met with an accident that left him paralysed, restricting him to a wheel-chair. But that did not limit his spirit. Pranav, on his wheel-chair, became a constant sight at temple festivals and other cultural gatherings in his hometown. Videos of Pranav enjoying festivities at the temples started trending on social media. It is through these videos that Shehna who hails from Thiruvananthapuram came to know of Pranav. She was drawn to him, and got in touch with him through Facebook.
They started talking to each other on phone, and soon Shehna expressed her love and the desire to marry him. Pranav, however, opposed to the idea; so did their families. He even made one of his friends tell Shehna that he was in another relationship. She was adamant, and left home to meet him in person for the first time. Their families thought she might change her mind after she saw him for real.
Nothing, however, could change Shehna's heart. And the couple tied the knot at a temple on Tuesday.
